Instilling Nature into the Design Process
Fox & Willow Design Studio was born out of a deep-rooted love for illustration, design, client interaction, and service. I am an artist in many forms, but the common thread throughout my entire practice is a passion for nature, wildlife, and the environment. At Fox & Willow, my mission is to reflect the spirit, personality, and unique stories inherent in the natural world by utilizing hand-crafted illustrations. Whether it be for a client embarking on their wedding journey, or an art-appreciator looking to bring a little bit of nature into their home, you will find your inspiration here as we venture into a creative adventure together.
Meet Emily

Art-making is not simply an outlet for me, but an entire way of being. It is embedded in every aspect of my life. It centers me in nature and allows me to appreciate the simple, beautiful moments in our world.
My creative journey began at a young age, and has persevered for almost 30 years. I have explored a multitude of drawing practices, both traditional and experimental. My drawings morphed into sculptures, and developed into tactile paintings. I’ve delved into printmaking processes of a wide variety, watercolor illustrations, and graphic design. My curiosity is never fully fed, and I will always be a life-long student of the arts.
I am many things- a teacher, consultant, artist- and now, a business woman. My studio is based out of Phoenixville, Pennsylvania, where I am surrounded by a thriving art community, my supportive husband, and one sassy cat. My life experiences have fully transformed me and allowed me to become the artist and designer I am today.
Why A Fox & a Willow?
A fox is a creature of significance to a number of cultures. Solitary, fiercely independent, clever, and resourceful; they live their lives with a creative spirit and the soul of a survivor. They have captured the imagination of people for centuries, and encapsulate how I see myself as a creator mirrored in their expressiveness.

A willow has always held fascination for me. Both comforting and slightly melancholic, they have an aura about them that speaks of endurance. The sway and bend, but do not break. They are flexible, adaptable, and constant. A willow symbolizes the type of creator I hope to be; one that listens, adapts, and persists.
